And the great thing...Thanks for the post, Camille.<br /><br />And the great thing is that God HAS shown us Jesus; in his Word, he has revealed Christ and his will for us, and put in place the structures of family and church to guide us and protect us. <br /><br />Just as parents, we have taught our young drivers the rules of the road, respect for the other drivers and the awesome responsibility of guiding a ton of steel down the road at speeds that may exceed our ability to react; so the church guides us and nurtures us in our life of faith. <br /><br />The funny(?) thing is, Camille, that just when I thought I had it down; that faithful reading and prayerful meditation on the Word had equipped me quite well in kingdom service, I became a ruling elder!<br /><br />In the immortal words of Jimmy Cagney, "I ain't so hot."<br /><br />And I thank God for the loving guidance and oversight of those who have been there before me.troalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01242148027358070670noreply@blogger.com
